Harnessing Back to School Energy in Your Marketing

My twin daughters have officially started their school year at PreK-3 and I’ve been a mixture of relieved and sad — much like every parent across the country, I’m sure.

Back-to-school season is funny. As a kid, I used to love back-to-school shopping. New pencils and binders were my weakness, and getting a new planner was the highlight of my month.

As an adult, I find I still am infected by back-to-school energy.

There’s something motivating about the fresh-start feeling in the air this time of year. It feels like anything is possible. I often find myself taking on big projects in August and September, sometimes even more so than in the traditional “New Year”.

And honestly?

I think that’s a good thing! Life comes with many different rhythms and it’s important to lean into where your energy leads you as a business owner.

This month I’ll be tackling some intensive ops to-do’s for Perfectly Planned Content, and I’m “harnessing” the back-to-school energy I’ve been feeling by knocking out several exciting content projects (stay tuned!).

🌟 Try something new in your content game.

Block some time on your calendar to try something new when it comes to your content creation! This could look like testing your video skills with an easy-record tool like Loom (or taking Katie Braden’s highly recommended video workshop), working with your team to draft a new blog post, or teaming up with your favorite networking or referral partner to schedule a Q&A webinar. As Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus says — take changes, make mistakes! After all, she may be the best embodiment of back-to-school energy that I’ve ever seen.
